Saab Key Programming
Saab cars produced since 1994 feature an immobilizer system based on keys that are coded. A new transponder is required for the addition of an extra key, and special programming. This is usually done at the dealer, using a specially-designed Tech2 diagnostic tool.
The issue is that it can be quite costly. You should always keep a spare set of keys available.
Transponder key
The transponder keys are keys equipped with an electronic chip. It sends a signal to the car when it is placed in the ignition. The car is able to check whether the signal is the same as the one on the key. If the signals are in sync, the car will open and start. This is a great way to deter car theft and keep your vehicle safe from thieves.
Transponder keys are a popular feature in cars, but you must be aware that they're not as secure as classic metal keys. Jumpstarting the battery
